There are three different categories of trainers eligible to provide state-mandated training for school board trustees: Lone Star Governance Coaches, authorized providers, and registered providers. Each category has its own requirements, and trainers in each category are eligible to provide certain training. Find the one that's right for your board below.

Lone Star Governance Coaches

Certified Lone Star Governance (LSG) Coaches are highly trained governance experts who are able to lead the Lone Star Governance workshop and who are also authorized providers for most other required school board member training. LSG coaches may provide the following required training:

• Lone Star Governance Workshop
• Evaluating and Improving Student Outcomes (EISO)
• Team Building (Team-of-Eight)
• Framework for School Board Development
• Texas Education Code (Update)
• Human Trafficking

Authorized Providers

Authorized providers may provide the required Evaluating and Improving Student Outcomes (EISO) training, as well as other school board member training for school districts and charters, but are not eligible to provide the Lone Star Governance workshop.ÌýAuthorized providers may provide the following required training:

• Evaluating and Improving Student Outcomes (EISO)
• Team Building (Team-of-Eight)
• Framework for School Board Development
• Texas Education Code (Update)
• Human Trafficking

To becomeÌýan authorized provider, complete an Evaluating and Improving Student Outcomes (EISO) training and pass the Authorized Provider Exam with a minimum score of 80. A schedule of all upcoming EISO training and associated registration information is available on the .

Registered Providers

Registered providers are eligible to provide school board member training for school districts and charters. They are not eligible to provide the Lone Star Governance workshop or the Evaluating and Improving Student Outcomes training.ÌýRegistered providers may the following required training:
