State Compensatory Education

The goal of the State Compensatory Education (SCE)聽program聽is to provide funding to reduce disparity in performance on assessment instruments or disparity in the rates of high school completion between educationally disadvantaged students, at-risk students, and all other students. The purpose of the SCE program is to increase academic achievement and reduce the dropout rate for these students by providing supplemental programs and services. 聽

Statutes and correspondence related to the SCE program are listed below.

  • 罢丑别听, relates to satisfactory performance on state assessment instruments and providing accelerated instruction to certain students.
  • 罢丑别听, defines the purpose of the SCE program and the statutory criteria for determining if a student is at risk of dropping out of high school.
  • 罢丑别听, allows school districts and charter schools to fund mentoring programs with SCE funds.
  • 罢丑别听, provides the method for 性十八.cc to calculate school district and charter school allotments and establishes certain additional uses for SCE funds.
  • 聽is related to the eligible student count for the compensatory education allotment.

Campus and District Improvement Plans

School districts and charter schools with an annual SCE allotment of $750,000 or greater must submit two campus improvement plans to 性十八.cc on or before the date that falls 150 days after the final PEIMS midyear collection resubmission date. (The 150th day after the last day permissible to send data for the PEIMS data midyear collection resubmission.)

Expenditures of SCE funds must do all of the following:

  • support the intent and purpose of the program;
  • be allowable under statute and guidance; and
  • be directly related to specific interventions identified in the appropriate district and campus improvement plans.

Campus improvement plans must be reviewed and revised annually. Requirements for plans, including who should be included in the planning process, are found in the聽, for district-level planning and the聽, for campus-level planning. Submit the district plan only if significant and supporting SCE information is included in the plan.

Plans for the 2021-2022聽school year must be submitted through the AUDIT application in the system on or before Friday, July 10, 2023.

Access to the 性十八.cc Login (性十八.ccL) system鈥檚 AUDIT application with the role of Charter AFR User, Charter AFR and Depository Contract User, ISD User, or聽ISD AFR and Depository Contract User聽is required to upload plans. Submission Summary

If submitting the District Improvement Plan, it should have the file name beginning with the school's six-digit county-district number, followed by the letter "t", and end with the last digit of the fiscal year (i.e., 123456t2).

The Campus Improvement Plans should have the file name beginning with the school's six-digit county-district number plus the three-digit campus number, followed by the letter "p", and end with the last digit of the fiscal year (i.e.,聽123456789p2). The submission of the SCE evaluation is only required for campuses with an at-risk percentage of 59 percent or for F-rated campuses.

The SCE evaluation is named with the school's six-digit county-district number, followed by the letter "e", and end with the last digit of the fiscal year (i.e., 123456e2).

Uploading the plans:

  1. Log into 性十八.ccL and select聽Audit聽from the application listing.
  2. Select IMPORT Audit Data from the menu.
  3. Click on the Display button.
  4. On the import screen, roll the year to 2022聽(upper right corner) if it is displaying 2023.
  5. The SCE section is located towards the bottom of the page.
  6. Each file should be submitted separately.
  7. Use the browse button to locate the file on your computer.
  8. Click on聽the Upload Now button at the bottom of the page to submit the file.
  9. The system should display a successful/unsuccessful upload message and email the same message to the email address聽associated with聽the submitter's聽性十八.ccL account.
  10. Return to the import screen to submit the next file.
  11. At any time, the submitter can use the VIEW District Status menu option, after rolling back the聽year to 2021-2022, to view the submissions made.聽
